The abstract outline and the artwork was done by Abe Mattox and Terri Flint of Mattox Welding & Rock Solid Iron Works. It is called “The House of Avoyelles in a Cloud Where the Door Is Always Open”. The cutout in the house is the outline of Avoyelles Parish filled with wild game, deer, duck, birds in the eastern and south part. The Indian Reservation in the center and Justice Scales in Marksville with farmer in northwest, alligator in the southwest and its native cypress tree holds it all together, along with the cypress trees all around the house.
Come and enjoy the Avoyelles hospitality and all we have to offer. Thanks, Abe Mattox
